“Horia Maxim delivered a performance of consummate authority. The pianist’s effortless virtuosity was truly impressive.” (Musical Actuality)

Considered one of the best Romanian pianists of his generation, Horia Maxim is a musician whose constant presence on concert stages offers one of the most important references to his artistic talent. The breadth of his stature as a performer is equally suggested by the complexity of his musical expression, demonstrated in his approach to a vast and challenging repertoire, both as a soloist — having collaborated in numerous concerts with most Romanian symphony orchestras under the baton of many distinguished conductors — and as a partner of prominent Romanian and international artists in chamber recitals performed in Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, Austria, Israel, Japan, Switzerland, Republic of Moldova and Romania.

Horia Maxim (Bösendorfer Artist since 2021) is frequently invited to participate to various international festivals, among the most notable being “Europäische Wochen Festspiele” (Passau, Germany), the “George Enescu International Festival” (Bucharest, Romania), the “Israel Festival” (Jerusalem, Israel), “Nuova Consonanza” (Rome, Italy), and the “Murten Classics Festival” (Murten, Switzerland). His achievements include numerous recordings, with Horia Maxim having performed, among others, a significant number of musical works in world premieres, many of them beeing composed for the soundtracks of films produced in France and the United States of America. Also noteworthy are the original artistic projects he has initiated, such as  Zona Imaginarium and Maxim Quartet (music and multimedia ensembles).
